Founded in 1954, Rancho High School (RHS) is the second oldest high school in Las Vegas and is home to two magnetic academies: Pre-Medical and Aviation. The pre-medical program focuses on the fundamentals of medicine, basic medical procedures, and device surgery to prepare students for a career in the medical field. The district`s only aviation academy has two programs: aerospace engineering and private pilot. Private pilot students choose to obtain their private pilot certificate from the FAA or take our Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) course. Aerospace Engineering prepares students to focus on Aerospace Engineering (AE) or Aeronautical Engineering (AMT) to work towards their AMT faa certification. Magnet programs begin in kindergarten to give students time to understand the purpose of school and develop interests during the kindergarten year. Most secondary magnet programs only accept Grade 9 and 10 students because they have programs of study that a student must complete for at least three years. Kit Carson is a school in the International Baccalaureate primary school. Students will benefit from the rich curriculum on a global scale, which is challenging but fun for students. Sandy Searles Miller Academy is a globally recognized first-year International Baccalaureate (IB) program with a steam accent. As an IB school, Miller offers Spanish lessons to all students. The Roger Gehring Academy of Science and Technology empowers its school community by inspiring lifelong learners through an innovative, STEM-focused blended learning program. Students participate in interdisciplinary and practical projects that include standards-based learning in school-created community gardens, turtle habitats, and scientific and technical laboratories. Roger D. Gehring Academy of Science and Technology is a diversity-focused elementary school that enhances access to exit outcomes for families of all racial and socio-economic backgrounds. In addition, it is recommended that students not participate in an ECT program after Grade 10 in order to complete a program of study. Students do not need to reapply annually for the Magnet, CTA or Select program, as long as they meet all program and school requirements. Lied STEM Academy is a brand new innovative and recently renovated STEM magnetic school, like no other, focused on architecture, robotics and computer science. We offer discovery, collaboration, hands-on learning and creativity through courses in design, architecture, robotics and computer science to solve real-world problems.

The Basic Academy of International Studies is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) world school with intermediate, career and diploma programs. These programs use highly effective teaching strategies to prepare students with the skills in content, analysis, communication, and reflection to succeed in college and in their careers. Develop skills in automotive, university preparation, early childhood development, entrepreneurship, fashion and design, food, forensics or video production while enjoying the high school experience. Walter Bracken STEAM Academy is an award-winning elementary school in the Clark County School District. Selected 2013 National Blue Ribbon School, 2017 Top Elementary Magnet School in America, Nevada Governor Designated STEM School and consecutive recipient of the 1 Distinguished School designation; Bracken has been a leader in advancing the STEAM theme. Desert Pines High School`s magnetic academies offer specialized courses focused on a variety of professional and technical backgrounds: animation, culinary arts, photography, radio production (the only program of its kind in the state of Nevada), sports and entertainment marketing, video production, and a new program for students interested in a medical career, Community Health Science. The goals of magnet programs are to improve student performance, promote diversity, and raise awareness of career opportunities related to fields of study that may be of interest to students. The Leadership and Law Preparatory Academy (LLPA) at Canyon Springs High School was founded in 2003 as the Magnet Program-Within-a-School in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
LlPA offers a unique blend of traditional high school experience, gaining 21st century skills and training leadership skills. The LLPA offers majors in law, global leadership, corporate leadership or military leadership. LLPA teaching is designed to hone the skills of 21st century students.
